5 Things Your Hairstylist Won't Tell You About Getting the Most Wear Out of Your Curly Hair Extensions

Curly weave is something everyone wants to try. However, many people don’t know how to maintain the hair. Curly texture is different from other types of hair textures because it requires more maintenance. With straight hair, you don’t have to do much to it to keep it looking beautiful. A few trade secrets to help you get the most out of your curly hair are found below:

  1.    Before bed, braid it up

Braiding the hair up helps it not to get tangled, or worse, matted. A bonus is that when you take it down, it’ll have a cute braid out.

  1.    If you can’t braid, pineapple it.

A pineapple is a simple method that tons of naturals use. It involves mainly tying your hair in a high ponytail that is towards your forehead. You then can place a scarf on it to help it stay and so it doesn’t rub against your pillow and get tangled in the nape area.

  1.    Try not to use a ton of products

Unlike your natural hair, curly weave doesn’t need or require a ton of products. Just a simple mix of water and conditioner will work and will help bring the hair back.

  1.    Detangle properly

A lot of people don’t detangle the hair properly which can cause shedding and tangling. It’s important to detangle starting from the bottom and working your way up. Also, make sure the hair is wet when you’re detangling to prevent tangling.

  1.    Treat it like it’s your own!

Remember curly hair needs the same love that you give to your natural hair. So, make sure you take care of it like it’s your hair.

Curly weave can be great and will last a long time if you take care of it properly. It is high maintenance, so if you can’t put the time in then, you may want to consider getting something that doesn’t require a lot of time. However, once you get a routine down, it’ll be super easy to manage.
